When is an enterprise ready for AI, and what needs human review?

AI can help people work with information across systems, but usefulness depends on approved data and a way to check the answer. Start with a bounded task and an explicit evaluation method.

Choose the first task

Use recurring questions with identifiable source material, such as finding manuals or preparing a draft summary. Define prohibited actions and decisions that still need an accountable person’s approval.

Control access and review

Respect user permissions, expose source evidence to reviewers and define a response when information is insufficient. Test answerable questions, unanswerable questions and restricted information.

Measure the actual workflow

Evaluate accuracy, source traceability and total task time including human review. Adjust scope if review effort increases. A successful demonstration does not establish readiness across the enterprise.
